November 2010: SL-8 SimSlim® Multi-Parameter Patient Simulator Featured in TechNation Magazine(reprinted with permission from TechNation)

In “New Advancements in Multi-Parameter Simulation Design,” TechNation (November) highlights the technological hurdles overcome by the miniaturized, full-featured SL-8 SimSlim Patient Simulator from Pronk. Topics of discussion include SimSlim’s power circuitry design and battery technology that permit a 10-year continuous runtime, faster testing of higher acuity patient monitors, adapter-less cardiac output (CO) simulation, rugged design with a polycarbonate casing made of material similar to Lexan (often used for bulletproof glass applications), and ease of connection to banana plugs and a wide range of ECG lead wires. SimSlim is equipped to run all parameters simultaneously, including ECG, respiration, cardiac output, and temperature. Additionally, four channels of invasive blood pressure (IBP) are independent of one another and can simulate different dynamic waveforms across each channel at the same time. Preventive maintenance tests consequently take a substantially shorter amount of time with the SimSlim Multi-Parameter Patient Simulator.

In its May issue, TechNation, the magazine dedicated to providing medical service professionals with comprehensive information, puts a spotlight on special features of the OX-1 OxSim® Optical SpO2 Pulse Oximeter Tester/Simulator that enable streamlined servicing by biomedical engineers for a wide range of SpO2 monitors. The OX-1 OxSim, which is palm-sized and weighs 5 ounces (excluding battery), tests the entire pulse oximeter, including the extension cable and sensor. With a single button, a biomed can efficiently access five desired settings of saturation values, heart rates, and perfusion levels, including a low perfusion setting that easily tests the sensitivity of the sensor and oximeter. Most monitors and sensors are automatically detected by OxSim, while other types are selectable with a button. OxSim’s efficient, hardy design that passes vigorous drop testing, combined with its four-year warranty, present a tremendous value for customers testing SpO2 monitors.  

January 2010: On-site Calibration Now Available in Most U.S. Cities

Pronk Introduces New Mini Pulse Oximeter Tester: OxSim^® OX-1

Pronk Technologies announces a revolutionary new product, a miniature Pulse Oximeter Tester (OX-1). A single Mode button toggles between modes with different saturation values, different heart rates, and different perfusion levels. A single probe Type button toggles through R-curves for different brands of oximeter probes. Cuff Jacket-2 recommended for Welch Allyn 52000 series monitors

The Cuff Jacket Duo creates a controlled and repeatable cuff volume without the need for bulky mandrels.  Use of the Cuff Jacket is suggested for optimum repeatability on most monitors, and is required on a few older NIBP monitors such as Welch Allyn 52000 series.  If you're experiencing C05 errors or inconsistent readings on 52000 series monitors, this accessory is essential (insert Adult size cuff inside the smaller jacket loop).
